I've known Jeni and Ricky for quite some time. I met Jeni nearly 13 years ago when I was her high school dance coach.
Jeni is like a niece, no.... sister, no... daughter....well....you name it and she is that to me! I have watched her grow up before my eyes over the past 11 years. To say that she and now Ricky are like family is an understatement. The two of them have been dating for years and recently got engaged, in Italy of all places! How romantic can you get!
When Jeni texted me with the news that they were engaged... I couldn't hold back my tears! I remember the moment well. I was driving by myself in my minivan running errands. I looked down at my phone and see a text from Jeni. (YES! I know I am not supposed to look at my phone while I am driving!). It was a text from Jeni. It is a photo of her ring and some thrilled jargon that basically says that Ricky has asked her to be his wife. Cut to me, alone in my car ugly crying like a baby!!!! I did that all the way home and proceeded to continue to sob my eyes out as I told the rest of my family the exciting news.
I of course offered to photograph Jeni and Ricky's engagement photos as soon as they were engaged!
Little did I know that they had an AMAZING idea for their photoshoot in mind!
Ricky is in the United States Air Force National Guard and has loved flying for as long as I can remember. He and his family have also worked for the airlines and for many years. Jeni and Ricky also LOVE to travel and have been to more countries and exotic places than I can count! They are BEYOND adventurous!
They had this idea to use a vintage airplane in their engagement photos and do a travel theme! This airplane was located at Seven Lakes Airport in Jackson, Georgia. The background was simply perfection for this couple’s engagement shoot!
Here are a couple of my favorites from the day.
Snapshots and Cheers!
